Feeding Avery Families (FAF) is a non-profit organization in Avery County dedicated to eliminating hunger by any means possible. It began in 2005 with just a handful of volunteers distributing 120 boxes of food each month. Since then, the need has increased over 300% and is still growing. With the help of dozens of volunteers, FAF provides food to over 1,000 people per month from their distribution center in Newland.

High Country Young Life

This is a non-profit ministry that's goal is to introduce adolescents to Jesus in the middle schools, high schools, and college of The High Country. It reaches students with volunteer and staff leaders going where kids are and loving them.
La Finca is a Young Life Camp in Nicaragua where members of our church have gone and will be going again to help them prepare for their summer camp to share the Gospel with students.
She is a full-time medical missionary in Malawi, Africa. She is fully funded by the Presbyterian Churches of Western North Carolina. Needy Children’s Fund Through this ministry our congregation sponsors a girl in Chile.
Our congregation also takes up the “5 cents per meal” offering every other month that goes to special projects and hunger relief in our region and overseas.
We also take up the “One Great Hour of Sharing” offering on Easter Sunday that primarily goes to Church World Services.
During Christmas time we take part in the Christmas Shoe Box effort of Samaritan’s Purse as well as an Adopt-a-Family program that provides Christmas gifts for families in need.
We also take part in the Relay for Life and Crop Walk. We minister to our members through a Help Fund and the providing of meals, cards and flowers in times of need.
